Puccini: Turandot

Unfinished at the composer's death, and long one of Puccini's more neglected works, Turandot is today one of his most popular operas. The tenor aria "Nessun dorma" made the pop charts a few years ago!

Soprano Birgit Nilsson and tenor Franco Corelli are the all-time most famous duo in the lead roles of this opera, singing at La Scala, Milan in the 1960s. They are available on a more expensive studio recording on another label, but most opera fans will tell you this live performance is even better! Digitally remastered from the original excellent monophonic recording.
