Fowlers Fury

Fowler's Fury is a long overdue and similarly awaited account of the solitary ultra high-pressure LMS steam locomotive of 1929.

Renowned for just one incident in which a member of the footplate staff was fatally burned, there is a considerable amount more to be told relating to the built up, construction, trails and ultimate abandonment of an experiment intended to introduce a new generation of more efficient steam locomotives.

The author, Ian Carney, has devoted many years studying the engine with the result that many previously believed notions will be exposed as folk-lore whilst the true facts surrounding the engine are revealed for the first time.
